Hope in Action/Real Life

Discipline is discipleship with a smaller vocabulary.

Discipline with Young Children

You love them. You also cannot live in a house with no rudder. God disciplines the ones He loves, and His discipline never shames a child out of the family. That is the pattern.

Train, don’t just react

Proverbs talks about training, not venting. Clear boundaries, calm follow-through, quick restoration. The goal is a child who feels safe, not a child who feels small.

Your tone teaches as much as your rule. They are learning what the Father is like by watching you.

Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

Hebrews 12:11 (NKJV)

Fill the house with the Word

Discipline without delight becomes law. Read Bible stories. Bless them out loud. Bring them to 418 Kidz so other voices agree with what you are planting.

If you lost your temper yesterday, repent to God and to them. That is also discipleship.

Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged.

Colossians 3:21 (NKJV)

You do not have to figure this out alone
