Hope in Action/Answers

It is not a personality flaw. It is missing the life you were made for.

What Is Sin?

Most people hear “sin” and think of a list they have already broken or a list they use to measure someone else. Scripture is blunter and kinder. Sin is falling short of the glory of God — missing the life, the likeness, the fellowship you were created for. That is why behavior management never heals it. You do not need a better list. You need a Savior.

Independence dressed up as freedom

Adam’s first move was not murder. It was distrust — stepping out from under God’s Word to be his own source. That is the root. The fruit looks like a thousand different things: lust, lying, pride, unforgiveness, pretending you do not need help.

Romans 3:23 is not God shaming you. It is a diagnosis. All have sinned. You are not uniquely ruined. You are honestly human, and there is a cure.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

Romans 3:23 (NKJV)

Jesus did not come to improve sinners. He came to make new creations

2 Corinthians 5:21 — He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. That is not God lowering the standard. That is God meeting it and then clothing you in the result.

If sin still feels like your name, come hear about identity. At Church Four Eighteen we will not help you manage guilt. We will point you to a finished exchange.

“For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”

2 Corinthians 5:21 (NKJV)
