Hope in Action/Answers

Saved is a new birth — and birth is not a trial membership.

Once Saved, Always Saved?

The phrase has been used well and used lazily. If it means you can say a sentence at camp and then live like the devil with no concern, that is not the New Testament. If it means Jesus actually saves — that the new birth is real and God is faithful even when we are a mess — then yes. Your spirit was recreated. That is not a subscription God pauses.

He who began a good work is not flighty

Philippians 1:6 is a Father’s confidence, not a loophole. You were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. Sealed. The warning passages in Scripture are a fire alarm against deception and hardness, not a trapdoor under every struggler.

We will not use scare theology to keep you in line. We will preach a new identity so you want to stay close. Grace produces holiness. Fear produces hiding.

“Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.”

Philippians 1:6 (NKJV)

Stay in fellowship because it is home, not because you might get evicted

If you have been using “once saved, always saved” as permission to ignore Jesus, you may not understand what saved even means. If you have been terrified that one failure un-saved you, you have been living under a different gospel than the one Paul preached.

Come get this settled. Church Four Eighteen will point you to a finished work and a living walk — both.

“In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise.”

Ephesians 1:13 (NKJV)
