Hope in Action/Answers
Your spirit is made new. That is not a metaphor.
What Does “Born Again” Mean?
Nicodemus was religious, trained, and still confused when Jesus said, “You must be born again.” If you have heard the phrase used as a political label or a punchline, it is time to hear it the way Jesus meant it.
You are a spirit, you have a soul, you live in a body
The new birth happens in your spirit — the real you. The Holy Spirit recreates that innermost part. You do not become a nicer version of the old person. You become a new creation. Old things pass away.
Your soul (mind, will, emotions) still needs to be renewed by the Word. Your body is a temple to present to God. But the righteousness, the life, the union with God — that is spirit-to-Spirit, and it is instant when you receive Jesus.
“That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, “You must be born again.””
John 3:6-7 (NKJV)
This is how you see the kingdom
Jesus said unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. He was not being harsh. He was being precise. You cannot live a kingdom life with an unregenerate spirit any more than you can breathe underwater.
If you have never been sure this happened for you, you can be sure today. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Then let a church family help you learn who you already are in Him.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV)
You do not have to figure this out alone
Come sit with people who are living this out.
Church Four Eighteen is a family in Titusville learning to receive what Jesus already finished — and to put hope in action. Saturdays at 5:00 PM. Kids are welcome. Come as you are.
