Hope in Action/Answers
Prophets point to God. Jesus is God pointing to Himself.
Is Jesus Just a Prophet?
Honoring Jesus as a prophet is not nothing. Muslims mean it as respect. Many Western people mean it as a compliment that keeps Him manageable. Jesus will not stay in that box. Prophets say, “Here is the word of the Lord.” Jesus says, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” Those are different jobs.
He receives what prophets refuse
When people tried to worship apostles and angels in Scripture, they were stopped. Jesus received worship. He forgave sin. He applied the name I AM to Himself. A true prophet would never let you treat him as God. Jesus let Thomas call Him God and then blessed him.
If He is only a prophet, He was a failed one — because He claimed more. If He is who He claimed, then calling Him only a prophet is not humility. It is missing Him.
“Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.””
Matthew 16:16 (NKJV)

You can honor Him fully, or not at all
We will not mock anyone who is reaching toward God. We will also not shrink Jesus to keep the peace. The kindest thing we can say is the true thing: He is the Son. He died. He rose. He saves.
If that claim is new, or costly, you are welcome to bring it into the light. Come hear the Gospels with us. Let Jesus speak for Himself.
“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.””
John 14:6 (NKJV)
