Hope in Action/Answers
Respect does not require pretending two revelations agree.
Is Allah the Same as the God of the Bible?
Muslim neighbors are not jokes, and they are not projects. They are people who often pray, fast, and care about the honor of God more seriously than some Christians. Respect still tells the truth. The God of the Bible has a Son. He is Father, Son, and Spirit. He died in the person of Jesus and rose. That is not what the Quran teaches about Allah. Using a similar title for “God” does not make the persons the same.
The difference is Jesus
If you remove the Son, you do not have the Father Jesus revealed. John 5 says whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him. That is not insult. That is the claim of the gospel. Allah in Islamic teaching is not triune, did not become flesh, and did not offer an atoning cross.
We can honor a Muslim’s sincerity and still say: come meet the Father through the Son. Those are not the same invitation.
“That all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.”
John 5:23 (NKJV)

Truth is kinder than a blur
Paul in Athens did not mock the unknown-god altar. He named the unknown. We can do that without contempt. Jesus is not a barrier to God. He is God coming close.
If this is your question because someone you love is Muslim, or because you are, you are welcome at Church Four Eighteen. Bring the Quran’s questions. Bring the Gospels. Let’s put them on the table and look at Jesus.
“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.””
John 14:6 (NKJV)
