Hope in Action/Real Life
Honor is holy. So is asking for help.
Caring for an Aging Loved One
Appointments, medications, the role reversal you never wanted. This is sacred work. It is also heavy work. You are allowed to need people.
Honor does not mean you never rest
The command to honor father and mother still stands in a hospital hallway. Honor can look like presence, advocacy, and patience. It can also look like bringing in help so you do not collapse.
God is not impressed by martyrdom that turns into bitterness.
“Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.”
Exodus 20:12 (NKJV)
Let the body of Christ in
Meals, sitting with them so you can go to church, prayer at the bedside — this is why a church family exists. Tell us. Do not wait until you are empty.
The Father of lights has good gifts for caregivers too.
“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 11:28 (NKJV)
You do not have to figure this out alone
Come sit with people who are living this out.
Church Four Eighteen is a family in Titusville learning to receive what Jesus already finished — and to put hope in action. Saturdays at 5:00 PM. Kids are welcome. Come as you are.
