Hope in Action/Answers
Liars make poor martyrs when they know they are lying.
Why Would the Disciples Die for a Lie?
People die for things that are false if they believe they are true. That is not the situation. The disciples were in a position to know whether they had a body or a breakfast on the beach. They went from locked doors to public streets. They did not get rich. They got hunted. The obvious question is still the right one: what explains that kind of change?
Cowards do not invent a resurrection and then keep the story under torture
Peter denied Jesus to a servant girl. Weeks later he is preaching in the same city. James, the Lord’s skeptical brother, becomes a pillar of the Jerusalem church. Paul, the persecutor, becomes the missionary. The Case for Christ treats those turnarounds as evidence, because they are. Something happened they could not unsay.
Gain, power, and safety do not explain it. An appearance of Jesus does.
“For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.”
Acts 4:20 (NKJV)

Their courage is not the gospel. Their testimony is
You do not have to be as brave as they became. You do have to decide whether they were reporting or role-playing. We think they were reporting — and that the same Jesus still saves.
Come sit with a church that believes the witnesses, and has met the Witness.
“And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him.”
Acts 5:32 (NKJV)
