Hope in Action/Answers

Paul named the crowd while they could still be interviewed.

Did 500 People See Jesus Alive?

Hallucinations do not happen to five hundred people at once. Paul says the risen Jesus appeared to Cephas, the Twelve, more than five hundred brethren at once, James, all the apostles, and finally to Paul himself. Then he adds the line that still sounds like a reporter: most of them are still alive. Meaning: go ask.

That is not how legends protect themselves

Keep returning to 1 Corinthians 15, because it is too early and too specific. A creed with named witnesses, circulating while hostile people in Jerusalem still remembered the crucifixion, is a terrible environment for a con.

If Paul were bluffing about the five hundred, the bluff was easy to call. The church grew anyway — in the city where the body would have been.

“After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain to the present, but some have fallen asleep.”

1 Corinthians 15:6 (NKJV)

Witnesses do not replace the Holy Spirit. They invite you to meet the same Jesus

You were not in that field. You can still know the same risen Lord, because He is not a memory. He is alive.

Come hear why our hope is not a metaphor. It is a Person with scars.

“To whom He also presented Himself alive after His suffering by many infallible proofs, being seen by them during forty days and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God.”
