Hope in Action/Answers

He is not an argument to win. He is a Father to know.

Why Should I Believe in God?

Maybe you walked away. Maybe you never started. Maybe church people made God look small. Belief is not a personality type. It is a response to a God who has already moved toward you.

Faith is not pretending

Hebrews 11:6 says the one who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. That is not a threat. It is an invitation. God is not hiding to fail you. He rewards seekers.

Creation tells you someone is there. Your conscience tells you you were made for more than appetite. Jesus tells you what the Someone is like. You are not leaping into the dark. You are stepping toward a Person who already stepped toward you.

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV)

The question under the question

Often “Why should I believe?” means “Can I trust Him with my actual life?” That is a better question. Look at the cross. A God who would rather die than live without you is not playing with you.

You do not need a perfect track record to begin. You need an honest yes. Come hear the Word with us. Faith comes by hearing — not by trying harder to feel it.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

John 3:16 (NKJV)
