Hope in Action/Answers

Not because it feels inspiring. Because Jesus walked out of a grave.

Why Is Christianity True?

Plenty of ideas make people nicer. That is not the same as true. The question that still matters is simple: why is Christianity true? Not why is it helpful, not why is it your tradition — why is it actually so? The Christian claim is public. It can be checked. It stands or falls with a man who died and then didn’t stay dead.

The resurrection is a historical claim

Paul did not invite the Corinthians to a mood. He listed witnesses. Jesus died, was buried, rose, and was seen — by individuals, by a group of more than five hundred, by skeptics who had every reason to stay unconvinced. This is how you treat history: you weigh testimony, enemy attestation, and the explosion of a movement that had nothing to gain from a lie.

If the tomb was occupied, Christianity is empty. Paul said so himself. It was not occupied. That is why we still gather.

“And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty and your faith is also empty.”

1 Corinthians 15:14 (NKJV)

True means you can build a life on it

Christianity is not true because it works. It works because it is true. Grace is not a coping tool. It is the news that Jesus paid, rose, and now offers you His life. That will change your Saturday night and your deathbed.

You do not have to become impressive first. You can receive Him. Come hear this as more than an argument — as an invitation — at Church Four Eighteen.

“For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.”

1 Corinthians 15:3-4 (NKJV)
