Hope in Action/Answers

Human hands. Holy Spirit breath.

Who Wrote the Bible?

It can sound suspicious — so many authors, so many years. That is actually part of the miracle. God did not drop a binder from the sky. He spoke through people and still said one thing.

Moved by the Holy Spirit

Peter said prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. Moses, David, the prophets, the apostles — different centuries, different vocations, one Author behind the authors.

That is why the Bible coheres around Jesus. The Old Testament leans forward. The New Testament looks back. Both find their yes in Him.

For prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

2 Peter 1:21 (NKJV)

You can trust a God who speaks

If God can create a world, He can get a book into history without ruining it. Inspiration does not erase personality; it carries it. You can hear Paul’s urgency and John’s wonder and still hear the Spirit.

We open this book every week because we expect God to speak — not because we are preserving an antique.

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.

2 Timothy 3:16 (NKJV)
