Hope in Action/Answers
Not vague niceness. Grace and truth in the same Person.
What Did Jesus Actually Stand For?
It is easy to stop at a bumper-sticker Jesus. What did He actually stand for? Not a mascot for whatever you already wanted. Not a scold with a halo. John says He came full of grace and truth. If you drop either word, you no longer have Him. You have a mascot wearing His name.
Grace without truth is sentiment. Truth without grace is a weapon.
Jesus welcomed sinners and told them to sin no more. He ate with people religion had written off, and He also called religious people to repent. He stood for the Father’s heart — healing, forgiveness, liberty for captives — and He stood against hypocrisy, unbelief, and the thief who steals, kills, and destroys.
He did not stand for your tribe. He stood for a kingdom. The poor heard good news. The proud heard a warning. The broken heard a name they could call.
“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”
John 1:14 (NKJV)

He stood for you — at a cost
The clearest picture of what Jesus stands for is not a slogan. It is a cross and an empty tomb. He stood in your place. He stood against sin without standing against the sinner who would receive Him. Then He stood up from the grave.
If you want to know His agenda, read Luke 4:18 and then come see a church trying to live it in Titusville — hope in action, not a brand of niceness.
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed.”
Luke 4:18 (NKJV)
