Hope in Action/Answers

You cannot pay it back. Jesus already paid it.

Karma vs. Grace — Which One Is True?

Karma has a kind of logic: what you put out comes back. It feels fair until you are honest about the ledger. If you really got what you deserved, none of us would like the bill. The gospel is not fairer karma. It is a Savior who takes the bill and stamps it paid.

Karma cannot forgive. It can only collect.

A universe of perfect payback has no room for mercy. It also has no room for a new creation. You would only ever be the sum of your previous throws. Jesus offers something karma cannot: a clean account and a new heart, given, not earned.

Ephesians 2 is the collision. By grace you have been saved through faith — not of works, lest anyone should boast. That is not eastern or western. That is heaven interrupting the ledger.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”

Ephesians 2:8-9 (NKJV)

Grace is not cheap. It was costly for Him.

You cannot pay it back. You were never supposed to. Faith receives what grace provided. Then you learn to walk like a person who has been let out of debt — generous, holy, free — not like a person still negotiating with the universe.

If karma has you tired, there is a better word. Come hear it. Church Four Eighteen will not hand you another system. We will hand you a Savior.

“For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”

2 Corinthians 5:21 (NKJV)
