Eyewitnesses do not plagiarize dying-and-rising vegetation gods.
Is Christianity Copied from Pagan Myths?
The internet loves a chart where Jesus is Osiris with better marketing. The charts usually collapse the moment you read the actual myths and the actual Gospels. Pagans told cyclical stories about seasons. The apostles named a crucified rabbi under a known governor, in a known city, seen alive by people who were still around to be questioned.
History is stubborn that way
Peter said they did not follow cunningly devised fables. They were eyewitnesses. Myths do not get you crucified in Jerusalem under Pontius Pilate. Myths do not produce enemy attestation, early creeds, and women as the first witnesses — a detail you would not invent in that culture if you were building a legend.
Copycat theories often borrow from Christianity’s later fame and read it backward onto older stories. That is not scholarship. That is a meme.
“For we did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty.”
2 Peter 1:16 (NKJV)

The gospel is too Jewish — and too costly — to be a remix
Jesus fulfills Moses and the Prophets, not Egyptian mystery religions. The first church was born in a Jewish world that was allergic to pagan gods. They would not have reached for Osiris to invent a Messiah. They had seen Jesus.
If this objection has been sitting in your pocket, take it out in the light. Come read the Gospels as history with a church that still thinks eyewitnesses matter.
“Then He said to them, “These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me.””
Luke 24:44 (NKJV)
