Hope in Action/Answers
We have too many manuscripts for a quiet rewrite.
Has the Bible Been Changed or Corrupted?
This objection shows up often in conversations with Muslim neighbors, and in Western skepticism that assumes ancient books are clay. The New Testament is the best-attested work of its world — thousands of manuscripts, quotations from church fathers, translations spreading across languages before any one empire could standardize a fraud. Corruption on the scale people imagine would leave fingerprints we do not find.
Copying is not the same as corrupting
Scribes made ordinary copyist mistakes — a skipped line, a spelling. That is why we have so many copies: they check each other. No central editor in the Middle Ages could recall every papyrus in Egypt and every quote in a sermon in Gaul. The text is embarrassingly public.
Isaiah 40:8 is still doing its job. The word of our God stands forever — not because paper is magic, but because God guards what He breathed.
“The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever.”
Isaiah 40:8 (NKJV)

Jesus trusted the Book you can still open
He quoted the Law and the Prophets as the Word of God, and He promised His own words would not pass away. The church did not invent His deity in a council and then backdate the pages. The pages were already in circulation.
If someone told you the Bible was rewritten, ask them which verse, which century, which manuscripts. Then come read it for yourself with a church that still expects it to speak.
“Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.”
Matthew 24:35 (NKJV)
