Hope in Action/Answers
Layer by layer, the dirt keeps agreeing with the text.
Does Archaeology Confirm the Bible?
You can preach a spiritual lesson from a made-up map. The Bible does not give you that luxury. It names kings, tunnels, cities, governors, and high priests — and then archaeology keeps turning those names up in the ground. Layer by layer, the Bible and archaeology agree. That is not a slogan. It is a pattern.
The dirt is not the enemy of the Word
Has any dig ever shown the Bible to be false on a historical claim? In substance, no — archaeology has repeatedly confirmed the world the Bible describes. We have the Pilate stone, the Caiaphas ossuary, Hezekiah’s tunnel, the Tel Dan “House of David” inscription, Nineveh’s walls. These are not church props. They are museum pieces.
Archaeology will not raise the dead. It will stop you from treating the Gospels like a fairy tale set in Neverland.
“Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judea, Herod being tetrarch of Galilee… the word of God came to John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness.”
Luke 3:1-2 (NKJV)

Evidence can take you to the door. Jesus still has to walk you through it
Field work in Jerusalem, Bethlehem, and Ai is the kind of teaching that makes skeptics nervous and believers sturdier. Come sit under a church that is not afraid of a shovel or a Greek manuscript.
Then do the braver thing: let the Jesus of those places speak to you.
“If He called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken)…”
John 10:35 (NKJV)
