Depression
The sermon feels far away. Getting dressed is a negotiation. Please hear this: you are not a bad Christian for being here. The thief comes to steal joy. The Helper comes to restore it.
Light is still true in the dark
Psalm 42 is in the Bible because God’s people have felt this. Speak to your soul. Get the Word in even when it feels dry. Invite wise medical help. Those can work together. God is not threatened by a physician.
You are a spirit, you have a soul, you live in a body. Care for all three without shame.
“Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; for I shall yet praise Him, the help of my countenance and my God.”

Let someone carry a corner
Tell a pastor, a friend, a doctor. Come sit in the back row if the front is too much. Send a prayer request if leaving the house is too much.
We will not minimize this, and we will not leave you in it.
