How Does Tithing Work?
If giving has been used to scare you, we understand why you flinch. God is not a slot machine and not a landlord shaking you down. He is a Father. We give because we have received, and because sowing is how His kingdom works.
Firstfruits from a free heart
Malachi 3 reveals God’s heart to bless and to rebuke robbery — it was never a tool to abuse people. In the New Covenant we still honor God with firstfruits because He is first, not because we are under a curse. Second Corinthians 9:7 — not grudgingly, not of necessity.
Jesus watched a widow give and called it worship. That is the tone.
“So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.”

Start where faith is, then grow
If you have never given, start. If you have given under pressure, reset. Talk to God. Give as a child. Watch how a generous life loosens the grip of fear.
No one will hunt you at C418. We will teach the Word and trust the Spirit.
