Hope in Action/Answers
Often they did not lose Jesus. They lost a version of religion.
Why Do People Lose Their Faith?
Sometimes it is a college classroom. Sometimes it is a church hurt. Sometimes it is a prayer that seemed to bounce off the ceiling. If that is you, you are not the first person Jesus has walked toward in the dark.
God’s faithfulness is not as fragile as ours
Second Timothy 2:13 says if we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself. Your grip is not the foundation. His is. Many people who say they lost faith actually lost confidence in a picture of God that was never accurate — a God who authors evil, withholds love, or requires you to earn your keep.
When that picture breaks, it can feel like God broke. He didn’t. An idol of God died. The real Jesus is still here.
“If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.”
2 Timothy 2:13 (NKJV)
Bring the questions into the light
Doubt that hides becomes unbelief. Doubt that talks to God becomes a doorway. Thomas was honest, and Jesus met him. You are allowed to ask. You are also invited to stay close enough to hear an answer.
Come sit with people who will not shame your questions. Faith can be rebuilt on a better foundation than the one that cracked.
“Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy.”
Jude 24 (NKJV)
You do not have to figure this out alone
Come sit with people who are living this out.
Church Four Eighteen is a family in Titusville learning to receive what Jesus already finished — and to put hope in action. Saturdays at 5:00 PM. Kids are welcome. Come as you are.
